Privacy Policy

Hungry Canadian is owned and operated by Airdrie Dash Delivery Ltd., doing business as Hungry Canadian (“Hungry Canadian,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you access or use our website, applications, and services (collectively, the “Service”).

We operate in Canada and adhere, to the best of our ability, to the principles of the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Where applicable, we align with international privacy standards such as GDPR and similar frameworks.

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

    Words with capitalized initial letters have meanings defined below and apply whether in singular or plural form.

    Personal Data

    We may collect personally identifiable information, including but not limited to:

    • First and last name
    • Email address
    • Phone number
    • Address (street, city, province, postal code)
    • Account and order details
    • Usage Data

    Location Data

    With your permission, we may collect location data to support features such as order routing, delivery coordination, and service availability. You may enable or disable location services through your device settings.

    Usage Data

    Usage Data is collected automatically and may include:

    • IP address
    • Browser type and version
    • Pages visited
    • Date and time of access
    • Time spent on pages
    • Diagnostic and performance data

    Cookies and Tracking Technologies

    We use cookies and similar technologies to operate and improve the Service. These include:

    • Cookies — Small files placed on your Device.
    • Web Beacons / Tags — Used to understand engagement and performance.

    You may configure your browser to refuse cookies; however, some features may not function properly without them.

  3. Analytics & Advertising Technologies

    We use the following services:

    • Google Analytics — To understand user behavior and improve performance.
    • Google Tag Manager — To manage site tags efficiently.
    • Google Ads — To measure campaign effectiveness and reach relevant audiences.

    These services may collect information such as your IP address, device type, browser, pages visited, and interaction data. Data is processed in accordance with Google’s privacy policies.

    We do not currently deploy other tracking pixels (such as Meta, TikTok, or Hotjar). We may introduce additional tools in the future, in which case this policy will be updated.

  4. SMS & Messaging Communications

    Hungry Canadian may use SMS or similar messaging technologies—through one or more third-party communication providers—to communicate with customers and merchants.

    These communications may include:

    • Order updates and delivery notifications
    • Customer support responses
    • Merchant and account management
    • Service-related notices
    • Promotional and marketing messages

    For customers, consent to receive service-related SMS messages is provided as part of your use of the Service and acceptance of our Terms and this Privacy Policy.

    For merchants, SMS communication may be enabled through written, digital, or verbal consent. Where applicable, we may provide opt-in mechanisms (such as a checkbox during onboarding) to confirm your preference for SMS communication.

    All outbound marketing and service messages will include instructions such as “STOP to unsubscribe.” You may opt out of non-essential SMS communications at any time by replying STOP. Transactional and service-critical messages may continue where necessary to fulfill orders, maintain accounts, or meet operational obligations.

    Message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier.

  5. Merchant Use of the Platform

    By accessing and using the Hungry Canadian platform as a merchant or vendor, you consent to the collection, use, and sharing of your business and order-related information as described in this Privacy Policy. This includes consent to the sharing of order data with third-party delivery providers as required to fulfill customer orders.

    Merchants may also consent to receive communications from Hungry Canadian via email, phone, or SMS for operational, support, and account management purposes. SMS communication with merchants may be enabled through written, digital, or verbal consent, and may later be formalized through opt-in mechanisms within our onboarding or account tools.

    Merchants may withdraw consent for non-essential SMS communications at any time by notifying us or replying STOP to an SMS message.

  6. Payment Processing

    All payments are processed by Stripe. Hungry Canadian does not store full credit card numbers or CVV codes.

  7. How We Use Personal Data

    We may use Personal Data to:

    • Provide and maintain the Service
    • Manage Accounts and authentication
    • Process and fulfill orders
    • Communicate order updates and security notices
    • Provide support and respond to inquiries
    • Deliver service-related and promotional communications
    • Improve, analyze, and optimize the Service
    • Comply with legal obligations
  8. Sharing Your Personal Data

    We may share Personal Data:

    • With Service Providers who assist in operating the Service
    • In connection with business transfers (merger, acquisition, sale)
    • With affiliates and partners consistent with this Policy
    • With delivery partners to fulfill orders
    • With your consent

    We do not sell or trade Personal Data.

    Delivery Partners

    When you request delivery, we share your name, address, phone number, order contents, and status details with the selected delivery partner. This data is used solely to complete your delivery.

    For merchant-fulfilled orders requiring third-party logistics, we may similarly share necessary customer and order data to complete delivery.

  9. Data Retention

    We retain Personal Data for as long as your account remains active and as necessary to:

    • Provide the Service
    • Meet legal and regulatory requirements
    • Resolve disputes
    • Enforce agreements

    Upon request for account deletion, we will deactivate your account and remove or anonymize Personal Data, subject to legal requirements.

    Stripe may retain payment-related data independently in accordance with its obligations. Deleting your Hungry Canadian account does not automatically remove data held by Stripe.

  10. International Transfers

    Your information may be processed or stored on servers outside your province or country. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers, which may be subject to different data protection laws.

  11. Security

    We employ commercially reasonable safeguards to protect Personal Data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; therefore, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

  12. Your Rights

    In accordance with PIPEDA and, where applicable, international standards, you may:

    • Request access to your Personal Data
    • Request correction of inaccurate data
    • Request deletion or anonymization
    • Withdraw consent for certain processing

  13. Children’s Privacy

    The Service is not intended for individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If such data is discovered, it will be deleted promptly.

  14. Changes to This Policy

    We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Updates will be posted with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of changes.
